Even in the dark, the refugees who set off on the M5 motorway continue their march
The M5 motorway is closed in both directions between Röszke and Petőfiszállás because of the refugees who started walking from a collection point near Röszke. The police have diverted traffic off the motorway. The refugees walked over 10 kilometres already towards Budapest.
Some of them are really determined and when asked by MTI (Hungarian Wire Service-trans.) how far they intend to go, they replied that they would walk the entire 170-km distance to the capital, if necessary. There are approximately 150 of them. A pregnant woman fell ill, and she was taken away by ambulance.
In the meantime, emergency police arrived to the march, and asked them to wait for the buses which would take them to the nearby immigration registry-point. BKV’s (Budapest Transport Company – trans.) articulated buses, with police escort, are on the way to pick them up.
Police warned the refugees in English, that it would take approximately three days to walk to the capital, but most of them are uninterested and they are adamant that they will go that far.
