Refugees waiting at Horgos were the last ones allowed to enter Hungary
After a two-hour wait, a couple of minutes before midnight, Hungarian border patrol started to let migrants waiting at Horgos enter Hungary in groups of twenty. Refugees assumed that the border would be closed down as soon as those waiting there had managed to cross it.
No refugees were allowed to enter Hungary through “Horgos 2” border crossing after 10pm. Refugees thought it was because there were no buses left on the Röszke side to transport them. They kept waiting patiently. Several migrants told MTI (Hungarian News Agency) that they did not wish to be registered or fingerprinted in Hungary. Majority of them were heading towards Germany. At the border crossing various aid organisations and volunteers distributed food and water to the migrants and helped them form rows of five to avoid any disturbance when crossing the border. There were also Serbian police officers present at the border; however, they did not intervene.
