An infection causing severe diarrhoea is spreading in Röszke, mostly amongst children
We asked a German-speaking physician at the medical tent, and he said that there is an outbreak inside the camp, almost all children taken to the doctor were treated for contagious, epidemic diarrhoea.
The physician also told us, that the situation is so bad that under normal circumstances children with this kind of illness would be sent to a hospital for 3 days. However from here there were no children taken, as police would not let the parents go with them.
The doctor said, that they fear the situation would be worsening by tomorrow, and he is worried about very small babies, who might actually die from this type of diarrhoea.
